Pickle Llama Delivers Working Software Same Afternoon, Briefly Investigated for Fraud
It ran. That was the problem.
An oilfield services company placed a request on Tuesday morning for a tool to reconcile field tickets against invoices. The tool was working by two that afternoon, which triggered an internal review.
“Nothing gets delivered same day,” said the controller who raised the concern, and who has since withdrawn it. “I assumed we’d been sold something off a shelf with our logo on it.”
The review examined the tool for four days. It found the tool to be original, functional, and reconciling field tickets against invoices. The review cost more than the tool.
The company’s previous vendor had quoted eighteen months, of which six were discovery. That quote remains open.
The Pickle Llama was not available to comment on the investigation, having already left the province. Staff reported he had been in the yard before anyone arrived and did not use a vehicle.
