Area Distributor’s ERP Rollout Enters Its Fourteenth Year of Phase Two
Officials describe the milestone as “on track.”
A building-products distributor marked the fourteenth anniversary of its enterprise resource planning rollout on Monday, an occasion staff observed by continuing to enter orders twice.
The implementation, which began in 2012 and was scheduled to conclude in 2013, remains in Phase Two. Phase One was completed in 2014, one year after Phase Two started. Nobody at the company was able to explain this, and the two employees who could have have since retired.
“We’re on track,” said the program director, who inherited the program from a predecessor who inherited it from a predecessor.
Asked what Phase Three would involve, the director said the question was premature. Asked what Phase Two involved, the director scheduled a follow-up meeting.
