Pickle Llama Reads Entire Safety Binder, Finds Two Procedures Still in Use
One of them is to call Dale. Dale retired in 2021.

The Pickle Llama was found Tuesday in the office of a metal-fabrication plant, reading the plant’s Safety and Procedures Manual, Rev. 2009, from the first page.
The binder runs 214 procedures across three inches of spine. By the Llama’s count, two match current practice: wear eye protection, and call Dale. Dale retired in 2021. The plant manager, who has a radio, a clipboard and no time, said the binder is reviewed annually by whoever is newest.
Asked what the plant should do about the binder, the Llama looked at the shop floor, where the second shift was running without it. “They know. Ask them,” he said.
He closed the binder and left it on the shelf, where it will remain.
“They know. Ask them.”
